The Loganathan Effect

To make a difference in the society you live in, you don’t have to be an ‘Anniyan’, going around ‘correcting’ people, you can actually get a lot done without a fuss, like Loganathan does. What this simple Welder does with his weekends is an example that humbles me and makes me re-examine my day’s worth.

When Sunday dawns, Loganathan can be sighted at CMCH watering the plants and pruning them. He also maintains small gardens there, which give him a sense of satisfaction.

Despite his poverty, he does all the work free of cost, expecting nothing in turn from the hospital. His message is that one needs only a heart to work and not money.

The service does not end with this. When he visits CMCH, he cleans the toilets there and takes care of the abandoned patients. “The support I get from my family keeps me going,” he remarks.

With very little money he earns from his job, he has donated a scanner to CMCH, a few electric fans and notebooks to prison inmates apart from many other things that the poor require.
